Privacy policy
This policy applies to the BluePanel app for Android (package
com.bluepanel.app), published by franbenaglia ("the developer"). Effective
date: 3 October 2026.
Summary
BluePanel does not collect, transmit or sell personal data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no server. Everything the app saves stays on your phone, and nothing leaves it unless you export a file yourself.
Data the app handles
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Names, addresses and signal strength of nearby Bluetooth devices | To list devices so you can pick one to connect to | Shown on screen while scanning. Not saved and not sent anywhere. |
| Values exchanged with the device you connect to | To show them on the dashboard and the terminal, and to send your commands | Kept in memory while connected. Saved only if you record a session. |
| Recorded sessions: device name, profile name, times and values | To let you review and export your measurements | Saved in a database on your phone until you delete them. |
| Dashboard profiles and the language you chose | To keep your setup between uses | Saved on your phone until you delete them. |
The developer has no access to any of this data. The app declares Android's internet permission because of the framework it is built with, but it makes no network requests.
Permissions
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth scan and connect, Android 12 and later): to find and connect to your ESP32. The app declares that it does not use Bluetooth scans to derive your location.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): these Android versions require the location permission before any app may scan for Bluetooth devices. BluePanel does not read, store or transmit your location.
Sharing
The app shares data only when you ask it to. Exporting a session as CSV or a profile as a file opens Android's share sheet, and the file goes to the app or destination you choose. From that point, that destination's own privacy policy applies.
Backups
If device backup is turned on in your Android settings, the system may include the app's saved data in your own backup, under your Google account. That backup is managed by Android and Google, not by the developer.
Keeping and deleting data
Sessions and profiles stay on your phone until you delete them from inside the app. You can remove everything at once by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app. Because the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing to request or delete on the developer's side.
Security
Saved data is protected by Android's app sandbox. This version of the app talks to devices without Bluetooth pairing or encryption, so someone within radio range could read or send the same values. Do not use it to transmit sensitive information.
Children
The app is a technical tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
